Disappointed

Turbo tax is fairly easy to use, but some areas require long searches to fill out information somewhat out of the ordinary. For example I had a 1099 Div, that was a final refund on a mutual Ins. co. Turbo tax would not let me put it in as a Div but explained the program would bring it up later under other income. The program did not and I had a devil of a time entering the information.
When I went to Efile Federal and print State many problems occured. Last year the program Efiled the feds, and printed what I needed for the state. This year I had to jump through hoops to get the state printed for mailing. Not user friendly like prior turbo tax software

What's great about it: Most of the forms were easy to complete
What's not so great: Very difficult to efile one return and mail another

Turbo Tax makes taxes easy

I have been using Turbo Tax for at least 10 years. I have never had an issue. It walks you through your taxes section by section, step by step. If you are not sure about something it will asked you questions to determine the proper response. I recommend Turbo Tax to everyone who asks me "who does your taxes".
What's great about it: Easy to follow directions, step by step takes you through your taxes.

Great product!

This is my sixth year using TurboTax. It has never let me down. It is easy to use. The help files are great when you are trying to find every deduction to which you are entitled, and they include links to IRS tax publications.
I like best of all feeling like I am in control of my tax filing....not some tax preparer who may or may not be up to date on current tax code.
What's great about it: Ease of use, thoroughness

There were a couple spots where I had to dig for answers instead of being explained in more detail, but over all decent.

Terrific Turbo Tax Time

Really clear instructions and helpful hints to click on when youre not sure exactly what is being explained. Have used the Tax King for years and years. Like the year to year comparisons.
Suggestion: Remind me half way through the year that I need to do my "It's Deductable" plotting. This year was a great improvement - love the search function.
What's great about it: Antisipate questions I had and told me they would be covered later on.
What's not so great: Need more financial institutions to participate in ability to download historical information

Way Too Easy

I remember the old days when taxes involved paper cuts, an abacus and lots tissues. Turbo Tax was fast an evasy, linked to all my accounts and was a breeze to file. Maybe getting a refund makes me biased even more but this year's version is the best yet.
I can't imagine paying these companies hundreds of dollars for this. One year, one of these so called experts filed its corporate taxes and was off by 38 million.
Turbo Tax rocks.
