What's great about it: Easy to use
What's not so great: Sometimes too many not essential steps

UK Resident Struggler

I believe Intuit continues to make small improvements and I want to thank them for doing so.
However, I've struggled this year in particular with Forms 1116 and 2555. I'm trying to include my wife's income for the second time, UK citizen and non-US resident, and the program eliminated her income, eventually, but I had to go into the forms directly to complete all the required fields. In the end, the program said it was deleting the 2555 form, but in the error check the form was still there and caused a number of (ignored# errors. Maybe this is the way these forms are ofter filled out, I haven't had to do so previously, but at least they make the jumping into and out of the forms back to Step-by-step seemless.
Lastly, I would like to suggest a way you can link steps #line items in most if not all areas) back to the specific form by listing the applicable forms the information you fill in goes to. Even have the various worksheets listed. I know you can shift to forms from a specific area, but if you know you need to get back to form 1116, you can't see that specific form listed on the Step-by-step sections. As you've seen above, there are work-arounds and this helps get into the heart of tax preparation so in not a bad thing.

High-Speed ease

I have been using turbo tax since 1993 when it predated high-speed internet windows based platform....So, I truly have a perspective on the program.
It has helped me properly complete me taxes (whether or not I get a refund in a particular year) efficiently and effectively for all these years.
One suggestion is within the step-by-step process you should allow the more experienced Turbo Tax users more flexibility to get going where I already know I need to go.
This concept is one you've advanced in the past (just need it done again). For example, some tedious video explanations have been helpful and I can watch them over and over until I "get" it. Sometimes, I already "get" it and I need it be skipped. Allow more of this.
Don't be too cute/informal. Don't say wait a "sec" or "we know it taking quite a while to load" just give a hourglass time tracker or something like that and "please wait" ..."sec" seems too informal and not appropriate.
What's great about it: step-by-step plus "help" is very good
What's not so great: I want to program to help me not think for me...need a bit more flexibility for the long-time user

Easy way to file Federal and State

Turbotax makes filing tax returns easy, correct, and less time consuming.
What's great about it: I liked the ease of having the previous years info transferred to the current year.
What's not so great: There is nothing I didn't like.
