I had to Pay, American Way

The product year after year is consistent. Reliable.
You have your information carried over from year to year.
This shortens preparation time. Their answers are thorough
on why you can or cannot take deductions.
Never seems to have any glitches. NOT BAD for a software program.

What's great about it: I liked that I was able to pay less with thorough deductions review
What's not so great: NOT the software, I just like a refund
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I bought or sold investments

Reduced the pain

The interview process makes sure that any possible oportunity to save on you tax bill is looked at and accuraly assesed. I have been using this product for about 20 years and have enjoyed the way it has evolved into what it is today.
What's great about it: Having all of the tools and forms available as you proceed makes the painfull process easier to tolerate
What's not so great: I still had to pay

I have been using Turbo Tax Deluxe for 16 years with no audits. Intuit answers questions and is easy to use. Refunds are fast.
What's great about it: made filingeasy

Overall very simple to understand. The only area I find confusing is that because I file state taxes in two states I ALWAYS forget to complete the other states first and this always creates a bit of confusion. Wish it would somehow be sure I did this in the proper order.

Makes tax filing a breeze

Makes doing your own taxes & filing easy. I like being able to compare to the previous year.
What's great about it: e-file 5 returns, nice step-by-step method with choice for exploring on my own
What's not so great: should be able to know that your state does not have income tax, ask only once whether you want additional services

Time saver and Organizer

Have used TurboTax since 1995, and watched it getting better steadily. Over the years, TurboTax not only simplified my tax filing, I also like the ease of mind knowing there is no error in my tax return, especially now (started 2 or 3 years ago?) with the Audit Risk indicator, it is almost a joy to see the mark at the minimum position. Although I used to prepare my tax returns myself therefore know my ways around among the Forms, but the EasySteps is so easy going that I now use it exclusively. It is so well organized noy only its a true no brainer, it also helped me developed a 1-page summary form which I fill out through out the year as the income and expenses come by, and keep all records/receipts below it. When it is tax time, I have all the numbers at my finger tips and finish filing in half a day or less, and knowing I did not miss anything.
However, I do have 2 wish-list items:
1. There is no prompt for calculating the estimated Fed tax payment for next year. Indeed the prompt is there for State, and it is very helpful.
2. In addition to saving a PDF copy, I always print a hard copy of both Fed and State returns for record. These two returns has a lot of redundunt pages that I wish the software could do something to easily eliminate the redunduncy. This will also be resource-friendly.
What's great about it: Easy filing and no worries
What's not so great: 1. No prompt for Fed estimated tax calculations; 2. Printing too many pages.

All in all it was great experience! This was the first time i did my taxes by myself and it really walk me through step by step in order for me to receive the most deductions possible for myself.
What's great about it: The step by step process it took me through was extremely helpful
What's not so great: I wished it would of explained a little more in detail about certain areas
