Solid and seemless, year to year

This is probably the 12th year using TurboTax, probably longer.
Each year the product is consistant, adds additional ease of use features and nicely bridges the gap between asking too many questions/suggestions and too few.
Allows even the experienced user the use of the "Guide" and not feeling much time was wasted.
Update method has improved in speed of access/download and install over the last 3 years, again making it less of an ordeal.
I see other software packages advertised, but don't even consider them as I know the quality and ease of use will continue to be a hallmark of TurboTax
What's great about it: Transfer of data reduces mistakes and eases the whole experience
What's not so great: Being charged for e-file of state

Painless (Almost)

This is my 6th year of using TurboTax and each year it gets better & easier to use. I did end up owning money again even after increasing my witholdings. Evidently, I didn't calculate it correctly. As for using theprogram, it's a no-brainer. Just follow the instructions and if you don't understand them, click on the help menu and go from there. Overall, it reduces the strain of preparing your tax returns from hours to minutes.
What's great about it: Very Intuitive - Great help information.
What's not so great: Needs a way to estimate next year's taxes so you can increase/decrease withholding .

Colorado State Instructions Misleading

Instructions for entering pension and annuity exclusions are wrong. In particular PERA amounts in which the note states "Do not enter an amount here if exclusion is related to PERA and School District Annuities. We will cover that later" When you do enter the PERA amount where the program instructs it generates an erroneous state return. I caught the mistake but not a good feeling about normally good quality Turbo-Tax. Next year I do not think I will buy the deluxe version and instead us my state's web site to file.
What's great about it: Carry over from previous returns and links to financial institutions for 1099s
What's not so great: Colorado State Return not worth it

Turbotax works great except at the end when it asks if I want to do state taxes, when I say NO it should be no especially since I live and work in Florida with only Florida income as the interview asked. Florida has no state income taxes for normal filers.
What's great about it: Easy to use
What's not so great: Keeps wanting me to file state

A good last easy method of filing a tax return. It gets better every year.

Sometimes, there are too many questions that slow things up. I like the links to the explanations, however.
