I have used TurboTax for quite a few years now and I love it. It is easy to use, information is easy to obtain if I have a question or concern and e-filing for the first time just made things so much easier and less hectic as it can be around tax time. I would recommend it to everone to use Turbo Tax and to e-file!

The procedure for identifying donated items and their value is very clumsy. It would help to have a search function in which one could put in key words and the closest item would come up.

What's great about it: clear sequence
What's not so great: the software asks for using the free filing for state on the first draft and you cannot use it later!

when you are looking for a particular form or box to input information, it's hard to find it sometimes. for example, if I am viewing a tax form and want to see where the number was input, it's hard to get to the source and make the change. Once you find where to input, it's hard to get back to the original form.
What's great about it: guides you very easily
What's not so great: hard to go back and forth

I just retired; and I went from doing a self-prepared 1040EZ to e-filing with TurboTax. The whole process of preparing the return was seemingly so simple. And once the Federal return was done the state return was nearly complete as well. It made my first experience of doing an itemized return myself very easy, understandable, and gave me a degree of confidence that I appreciate.
What's great about it: Well written software. Easy to follow - step-by-step.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I bought or sold investments
