Quick and painless

Turbo Tax is quick and easy. It's like going to a tax prep in your house. You don't even need to go to the post office if you don't want to. Takes the hassle out of doing your taxes.
What's great about it: Fast. Easy. Imports last years info and tranfers it to this year.
What's not so great: You do have to pay for State E- Filing

Taxed out my return

Had to complete the filing twice! becuse for some reason wlhen updating the file for updates to the TurboTax system it lost my original completed file. However because of ease of fuse I was able to quickly compleete second return
What's great about it: ease of directions and ability to back up and recheck as needed
What's not so great: need more information on ensuring I correctlysave the document

Painless

TurboTax has saved me so much money over the years I have been using it.
Not only is the cost reasonable but it helps find me deductions that I woud never have found on my own.
This whole experience is painless except for the check I have to send the IRS.

2012 finished

excellent as always; state taxes are downloaded beautifully;
state tax returns take no time once the federal is finished.

What's great about it: goes through all the personal income issues-updates forms
What's not so great: after updating forms has a problem with starting program automatically

Failure of TT to handle both Fed and State efiling

I eventually, after having paid for the state return efiling, returned to the scree which allows user to select both Fed and State for efiling, which had failed, got into an endless loop, and deselected the state for efiling, and then was able to e-file the Fed. Now must figure out how to e-file the State return.
What's not so great: TT went into endless loop when I selected both Fed and State return for efiling on same screen.

After doing Taxes for 15 years with AARP Tax Aide program I had never heard of MRD for Retirement plans. Apparently you tech had not heard of it either.
What's great about it: None
What's not so great: Never returns you to the next step
