Turbotax Great Tax Tool

Turbotax is a great tool for fillingout your own taxes. It is great that the program gives you a choice to go step by step easy or to work on the forms on your own.
The step by step easy guide builds confidence that each part of the Federal and state forms are filled out properly.
I have to fill out forms for two states NY and NJ, Turbotax helps you get throug the process of filing wth minimum confusion.

Outstanding refund

TurboTax is great program. It helps get the job of filing taxes easy and understandable,
What's great about it: easy to use
What's not so great: too much scrolling
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Making the Complex Easy!

It was easy to make sense of the many deductions for college tuition.
I was able to speed through my dividends and stock sales.
TurboTax gave me easy steps to get through my mountain of medical expenses.

turbo tax 2012

I like turbotax in general but we should not have to pay to have both Federal and State electronicly sent when it does not cost you any thing. I have used turbotax for close to 10 years and have not had many issues. It sometimes does not give you clean enough details when you are not sure if this is a area you need to do or not.
What's great about it: It was very easy to use
What's not so great: having to pay for efile for state

This is my first tax year as a fully retired person, so things were a bit different, especially the income box. Being able to compare the entries from this year to those of last year was very reassuring, as I could easily verify what had and had not changed.
The tone of the questions, answers, explanations, and suggestions was professional yet friendly--I always felt that I was in charge, despite being so carefully guided.

It was an easier process this year than I had been expecting as I had to file in 2 states and I had some complex medical deductions for this tax year. After gettting in the information together and installing Turbo Tax, it only took about 4 total hours to complete my returns.
It's nice to be able to have all my information from my last years returns imported to easily.

What's great about it: Handled both multi-state filings and complex medical deductions very well.
What's not so great: Turbo Tax was not partnered with the payroll company my W2's were from, so I had to enter all of them individualy
