FAST....EASY...FREE E-FILE

I have used Turbo-Tax for several years and it makes tax preparation for me easy and I'm always sure that everything I need to look at has been covered. It always makes me think of things I might have forgotten, and explains things so I know exactly what deductions I qualify for.
What's great about it: Organized, thorough,easy

Will continue to go with Turbo Tax each year. Was leary at first, so did my taxes manually first before using the software. Turbo Tax saved me more money!
What's great about it: All the helpful hints and easy access to govt forms.
What's not so great: Had no issues this year

What a Time Saver!

TurboTax makes tax time so much easier. The easy-guide path takes you through all the things you have to consider with the goal of maximizing your refund. I don't know how I did my tax returns before without TurboTax!
What's great about it: Just like having a tax accountant without paying the high fees
What's not so great: Wish the state e-file is included for free

lacks basic reasonableness checks

By not at least putting reasonableness checks on easily predictable items like the medicare premiums entered the product invites transpositions and digit adding or dropping errors. Really rookie code in a poor product.
What's great about it: hard to use
What's not so great: allows major errors due to not checking reasonableness of deductions like medicare cost by an order of magnititude.

Quick and Easy

I've used Turbo Tax since 1995. I've saved a lot of time being able to trasfer last year's information to this year's retutn. It is easy to use the step by step process, but you can switch to forms or go on your own if you need to. Also there are links to explore a topic deeper if you need to. I've always prepared my own taxes. Turbo Tax makes it less painful. It also helps to keep good records througout the year, so when you are promted to enter something, you have it ready to go. Unless the cost goes up too much, or we finally simplify our tax code, I don't see switching from Turbo Tax.

TurboTax is easy to use and makes sure you don't forget anything. Would like to purchase ahead of time (at a discount) the e-file of state return-when I purchase the software.
What's great about it: step by step coaching
What's not so great: lightness of boxes hard to see
