Excellent product

I have used Turbo tax for years. I find it very easy to use by answering simple questions. It makes the process less painful and I do not have to schedule an appointment and round up all my paperwork to take to a tax person. I like how it automatically imports my deductions and my W-2 plus my forms from last year.
What's great about it: simple to use

Arduous

I have been using TurboTax for quite a few years now and have never had such a difficult time as I had this year. When I went to finish up, the screen said that all my basic forms were not available and to check back later. Well, as i usually leave doing the taxes until right before the deadline, I didn't have a lot of time. When I finally found the check for updates ap it, too, said check back later. Luckily I persevered and finally downloaded and filed my taxes. Could have been easier.
What's great about it: Don't need a calculator
What's not so great: Difficult

Crazy tax regs. made easy.

Overall good program.
The transfer of data to my state return shifted information on
sales of stock and had to be adjusted multiple times.

Turbo Tax was fast and Fun to use.

Free Phone tax help was excellent to resolve questions and to fine tune return.
What's great about it: .Seems to work fairly well but not perfect.
What's not so great: Did not pick up Carryforward info from some previous years

Easy as Apple Pie!

For most income and deduction topics, TT was very straightforward.
For the Retirement section, it was asking me questions re: whether the amount was a Required Minimum Distribution even though it was income from a pension plan (not an IRA). This was confusing to me because in the past, TT has been "smart" enough to know that.
What's great about it: Comprehensive
What's not so great: The Pension Section changed and asked questions that weren't asked in previous year's without any expanded detail/help.

Great product - only a few quibbles

I can not imagine doing my taxes any other way. Been using TurboTax for more than a dozen years. There were 2 slight quibbles:
1. Forms 1099-MISC for income for a self-employed business appear to be entered in 2 places. Not clear if both are needed, or just one (but which?)
2. On final error checking, a few of the numbers entered by the program itself were flagged. Explanation of the problem was insufficient.

critique of Turbo Tax 2012 version

I have used turbo tax for many years; and I am NOT brand new to Windows 7.
The task of printing paper version to mail was VERY difficult
this year as it seemed Turbo T. wanted me to e-file. I had to repeat the request several times and wasted huge amts. of paper and ink.
The task of entering the correct amt. of income from a regular bank account was very complicated. ( just interest)
