Got it done.

The data loaded from the previous year's information saves time. The information from the help menus clarifies the interview process. I like the ability to stop and then continue at another time and quickly get to the point where I left off.
I have used Turbo Tax for many years and relie on the IRA history of deductible and non-deductible amounts for my wife and myself.

What's great about it: Transferring tax info from previous years...step by step method so we don't miss anything...
What's not so great: Gets better and better every year.....

Wait and See

Part of this MAY be because Michigan laws were new, and UNLESS I already knew that changes were made and treated retirees born before 1946 differently from AFTER '46 I don't know that I would have known to look for the differences. Certainly made a difference...then I needed some definitions that were not easily obtained from Michigan, but hopefully they are right. Also when I decided to file my State return, the 1st time it led me on a merry chase and I gave up...today, I persevered, FINALLY put in a phone call, but before I ever got anyone on the line, a new screen (which I'd not seen before ) came up and finally everything seems to have gone through.
What's great about it: Seemed to cover what I needed
What's not so great: But seemed more difficult that usual and I've been using this for the last 4 years.

Quickbooks Save So much time

With the changes in our family due to dependents working now, it was still easy to get our taxes completed but I wish it would have explained more of the process before we got to the end of our joint filing. My son was excited when he found out that he would get some money back. I had forgot how easy it is to do the 1040-EZ until I did his. We had his completed within fifteen minutes. Ours took around ten hours to complete with all of the paperwork to find and put in. I still like Tubo Tax. I have used it for over ten years.
What's great about it: quick steps and great reviews. Can do mine and my son's taxes.
What's not so great: confusing when there are changes with dependents

It always gives me the most deductions and fills out the complicated forms with only the simple information i input.
