Turbotax is very helpful and very complete. Most questions are anticipated by the software.
What's great about it: Calculations are automatic; work sequence is automatic
What's not so great: Helps if person has had experience with the actual forms prior to using Turbotax. As a newcomer, it was seemingly abstr

Turbo tax is easy to use, and has been for me for a number of years. I run a financial planning business and the set up of the program suits my needs very well - thanks!

Always use TurboTax for my taxes

I have used TurboTax at least 4 or 5 times now, and I will continue to use it unless my tax situation gets very complicated.
I would like TurboTax to improve guidance for those of us that do contract/freelance work, but don't have an official business (LLC, sole proprietorship#. What happens when someone doesn't pay for services received?
Other than that, I do think TurboTax is easy to use. I like the option to easy guide or go through on my own. I really like the efile option and wish there was no cost #or a much lower cost) to efile for the state.
It would be great to have a tip sheet of what to keep track of for the next tax year, based on this year's filing.

Turbo Tax

Quicken transfer was very bad. subjects not correlate and sums crazy. I think quicken needs an update as to the new provisions of the tax code, like the difference between qualified and non qualified dividends. Also had trouble with foreign tax deduction. It was entered three time and trying to get it out of 1040 was a challenge. Finally, I kept looking on my email for the advice promised on efiling. To this day I have received nothing. I do not know if it is intuit or the government. but it is very misleading.
What's great about it: Fairly easy to use with question and answer
What's not so great: transfer from quicken was terrible, switching to forms was laborous

What's great about it: Very easy to use especially if used in previous years and allows importation of information.

Scared to try TT this year with all the online reviews describing disasters. Tried the competition with poor results, so grabbed a Turbotax disk and everything went smoothly and accurately - as in all my previous years with the product. Despite a very difficult part to navigate in IRA's and Retirement Annuities (which no program does clearly for us amateurs) TT did even this most dreaded part better - we got it done!
What's great about it: Much easier than the competition; I've tried several others.
What's not so great: As with all these tax programs, very difficult to do the IRA & retirement annuities adjusting for employee contributions
