Except for Sched K-1, its great

A single K-1 provided by Limited Partner had both business & rental real estate amounts which had to reported on two K-1 forms. Problem arises in the distribution of other line items between the two required forms. Probably an IRS rules issue as the Partnership is not required to break out the items and TurboTax has no solution. Most confusing.
What's great about it: Well guided and realitively easy year to year
What's not so great: Mass confusion on handling K-1 with both business & rental amounts

Save time and money and do it yourself!

This program is so simple, step by step and saves me time and money every year! I love using Turbo Tax and highly recommend it. I do not have complicated taxes, so I am not sure how it would work if I owned my own business, etc but it is perfect for the average Joe!

Long time user irritated by one annoying flaw.

I've used TT for many years and it's great because it brings forward info from the previous year and I don't have to go searching for it. But after my husband died and I got moved to first taxpayer, TT didnot transfer my IRA basis. I would think they could by following my SS #. Also, with unusual taxes (per capita# I can only enter them by going to the forms. TT doesn't ask for them in their step by step. The most annoying thing is not holding the answer I've selected from the time before. And this has happened over the years. Answer a question on one page, go back later to reevaluate or plug in different numbers, and you have to re-choose the answer #even if you saved the file). It changes your answer back to the default. That is the biggest thing I don't like about the program. I can't depend on it to retain my answer choices.
What's great about it: Brings the previous year's info forward.
What's not so great: If you've made a choice, and go back over it, you have to make the same choice every time.

I am confident that Turbo Tax maximized my refunds and provided error free calculations. I have used this product for severlal years and will continue to do so. The on-line help wasn't that impressive. A live chat option would have help me with a question or two. I researched the issues at the IRS site and eventually found my answers.
What's great about it: Step-by-step guidance a big plus.
What's not so great: The save, file and print instructions were a little confusing and I didn't like the on-line "ask a question" feature.

Used Turbo Tax for multiple years now and I'll never switch. It calculates everything, runs error check, maximizes my deductions, etc. I love it and highly recommend it!
What's great about it: Calculates everything, runs error check, and maximizes deduction
What's not so great: online version only allows for 1 filing
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

2010 Turbo Tax - seems to be getting a bit much

I am a 20 year veteran user and of course the tax code is getting more complicated. TurboTax matches to the penny a complicated depreciation schedule set up by my accountant. The offers to upsell are getting tiresome especially if one goes thru the return process several times before setting on the final numbers. From one walkthru to the next it often forgets previous answers I had checked.
All-in-all the best product out there.
What's great about it: Seems to have all I need and then some. Easy to use.
What's not so great: Too many ads - too many redundancies - help not all that good

Makes it Easy, Quick and Painless to File Return

I have been using Turbo Tax for 7 years. I would not use any other software. It is easy to use and electronically file. I recommend it to everyone I know!
