Excellent Guide

Excellent product that improves every year.
What's great about it: Forthright presentation of what needs to be done and how to do it.
What's not so great: Still a little quirkiness with some features, mostly with state returns.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

I did not like this product, had to click on each title and go through individually entering everything only to find out later it didn't matter. Would have been nice to know up front that they would not allow even a percentage of my IIRA to be deducted- even though your tutorial alluded that a percentage would be deducted based on our income.
Spent hours of work for no reason to get a very small return on federal and to owe on state. VERY disappointed. I have never had to write a check for taxes in 40 years. With 6 kids, I am shocked that I had to this year. - No we don't make that much :-(

Simple and easy to do

I've used TurboTax for 5 years now and it's getting simpler each year to finish taxes up. I have to remind myself that it's easy and not to dread the task anymore. I pay additional taxes each year and I know the TurboTax program reviews everything to ensure I'm getting all the options available to me to reduce my tax bills. It's worth the money.
What's great about it: You can enter , change and delete info as you receive it
What's not so great: Takes a while to setup initially, don't want until last minute!

Improvement for charitable deductions and more details on college fees and books needed. Some help with other college expenses would be nice.
What's great about it: easy to navigate
What's not so great: lacking on chartible deductions

Some pre-work recommendations would be good. For example, "Worked at home last year? Please compile your utility bills and mileage reports before starting."

I have used Turbo-Tax for years and have always found that it keeps improving and is easy to use. As long as you are prepped with all of your tax forms and numbers ahead of time, the step by step guide makes it easy and does not take too long. I plan to keep on using Turbo Tax.

It's so easy to use

I've used turbo tax for many years and it keeps getting easier even though my taxes are getting harder
What's great about it: Is very specific on what is being asked. Like that you can click on it and it gives you examples
What's not so great: When it says "don't enter ---- here, you will enter it later", tell where it should go

Turbo tax makes filing taxes easy, if not painless in having to pay. Feel secure that my payment will be correct and there will be no hassle with my returns. Federal government let Turbo tax as well as all who are required to file by not having their files updated promptly.
What's great about it: easy to use, feel secure with returns
What's not so great: very disconcerting to not have updates before returns are filed
