I love the desktop version because it gives me easy access to various forms and I have the ability to see the forms as I complete them. Grate for an easy way to file my own taxes. Turbo Tax Rocks!
What's great about it: Very user friendly and easy to follow through.
What's not so great: I started filing with the online version then midway through realized the desktop version was better suited for me.

Easy to Use (I just wish you'd skip Net Framework)

Long time user of Turbo Tax. I couldn't think it could get easier to use, but it did. I particularly liked how it handled my NJ and New York returns seamlessly. I was dreading having to file for both states!
I do miss the section where it compares my tax returns to that of others, just to make me more comfortable about low chances for an audit.
Kudos for matching our donations for our soldiers!!!

What's great about it: Very easy to use - Powerful
What's not so great: Uses Net Framework - I had to install it on my WinXP knowing it is quirky
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

File and Print

When you go to file your state and federal taxes, as long as you are e-filing, it is pretty straightforward. If you, for example, want to e-File for the Feds, but paper file for the State, trying to make a paper copy to file for the State, in that instance, is made VERY DIFFICULT !! I only assume, sad as it is, that it is setup that way so you are INCLINED to PAY for the State e-filing. Again, that is a sad statement for such a professional product. Go figure.....
What's great about it: For electronic filing, it is comprehensive and simple
What's not so great: For filing a paper copy of a state tax, it is horrible...
Pros: I moved, I bought or sold investments

I've been using Turbo Tax since mid 90's and have always been impressed by their product. It gets easier each year and although it does not relieve the pain of having to pay taxes each year, it does make it pretty painless to do once you have all your paper work in order. I wish all programs worked this easy.
What's great about it: Gets better every year.
What's not so great: Updates to be downloaded are sometimes slow.

My 2011 refund was to be applied to the 2012 return, but that info was not transferred. Caused me a lot of backtracking.
What's great about it: previous years have been great.
What's not so great: For some reason, 2011 did not completely transfer info
