I read some non-favorable reviews about TurboTax this year as compared to previous years, but decided to still give it a go. I am glad I did, went through the same smooth process as last year.
What's great about it: Detailed explanations, thorough, can print ahead of time and compare documents.

This was a great program. We have used it three years in a row. Great price and very easy to use.

Simple Program for Filing Taxes

Overall I like the ease of the program as it walked me through the process. Questions about my documentation were simple and easy to understand. Help functions were readily available when I got stuck.
e-filing the federal form was relatively easy, although it was confusing as to the next step since I didn't want to e-file the state return through turbo tax. Plus the fact that they wanted to charge me more than my return to e-file. Wasn't quite clear as to what documents I needed to submit on my state return,

Simple for Retired Couple

I've used Turbo Tax for many years. This year the process seemed much less painful because the program is really easy to understand and visualize as you go through it. For 2012, I felt that the deluxe program was worth the money.
Meanwhile, I still think that TT can figure out a way to give seniors a break when it comes to e-filing the state return. Yes, its more convenient, but it's painful nevertheless.
Without Turbo Tax, I probably would have paid more tax this year. Instead, we managed to get a refund.
