error messages could be more clear - too generic could have better directions and hyperlinks
What's great about it: done at home - dosent take much time
What's not so great: paid for program then had to pay to file - not clear on blanks or zeros

Like it but not in love with it

While helping my sister with her tax return, I wished there could have been a few more questions that pertained to her school expenses. The 1098T form that she receives does not explain that part of the grant/scholarship column seemed to include her student loans that she had taken to pay her tuition which makes it seem as though she had paid less in tuition when in fact, she had paid more. The question on Turbo tax that applies to this senario only asks two questions, one the amount paid for tuition, and two, the amount of grants/scholarships. I wish there was another question that can help adjust the amount of "grants/scholarship" total versus just asking the amount of tuition paid.
What's great about it: Very easy to use
What's not so great: could improve in deduction areas

Turbo-ing My Tax

While I don't appreciate a tax code so complex that I feel the need to buy software to make sure I have a relatively trouble free and accurate return, TurboTax makes this a far less onerous task.
What's great about it: Easy and complete as usual.
What's not so great: Not really any.

The only way I do my taxes

Turbo Tax is the only way I do taxes -- it makes it simple, it takes the fear out of missing deductions, and it even helps figure out how much to deduct for charitable donations. I especially like the running refund total at the top of the screen - and it's fun to see the refund increase as you progress through all of the pages.
What's great about it: Simple, easy to use, they check EVERYTHING
What's not so great: Confusing terms for the input of sale of mutual funds
Pros: I bought or sold investments

Overall very useful software, use it year after year with little concern for my taxes. Takes a load off.
What's great about it: quick, detailed software, very useful
What's not so great: Shouldn't have to pay for e-file state return, should be part of the software purchase price
