Filing Process a Little Confusing
on February 16, 2013

I'd suggest one screen after review that CLEARLY states what is going to happen in the next few steps. For example:
You will be able to print your returns at any time but we recommend that you wait until after we do the following:
1 The first step will be to... 2 The next screen will tell you.... 3 The following screen will ..... 4.Then we will. ETC.
I may be a little dense but I do have two engineering degrees and a Master in Public Administration.. and I wasn't sure where we were going.
What's great about it: Relatively Fast
What's not so great: Somewhat confusing, wasn't sure where I was going

If you feel like your not organized enough to do your own taxes Turbo Tax can and will help. It is easy to start and stop and then restart supplying Turbo Tax with the information to complete your Tax Returns. Need time to relax, think or find information just stop the process and restart later where you left off. You'll feel relaxed and confident when you submit the return that it is accurate and you'll not be overpaying the government.
What's great about it: Step by Step, easy to stop and restart.
What's not so great: It could not automatically find all my family W2s

I have no problem paying taxes. And in my case for the last couple of years, I'm talking about six figures. But where in the world did we go wrong with this system? Each nuance and change indeependently has its merit and value, but when you add all of them up, it becomes a gigantic cluster. Thank you for making it so easy for me.
What's great about it: It is monkey simple
What's not so great: Our tax system needs an overhaul

State return still needs a tliitle work

The federal return step by step, hasn't changed much from last year, and that's a good thing. It is straight forward and takes you through everything. The Massachusetts state form however doesn't work quite right and I am forced to go into the forms to enter my wifes state pension contribution for the year. You would miss a 2000 dollar deduction in Massachusetts if you didn't catch that.
What's great about it: Federal Return was simple
What's not so great: Still misses things on MA state return
