What a relief!

I was really dreading doing my own taxes this year as my accountant husband died in 2012. I knew he had used this program in the past so I did the same. I have not prepared a tax return by myself for over twenty years and this was immensely easier than I remembered! I had tried to do this one the old fashioned way (paper, pencil, calculator) but your results were better than mine. And it surely beats reading the Fed's regs and trying to decipher the meaning. Thanks for making a dreaded task almost pleasant.
What's great about it: Directions were clear and concise, yet friendly. Did not take long to complete.

Mostly OK, but one really annoying bug

I like TurboTax. I've used it for more than 10 years and always been satisfied with the results. Everything was just fine this year, too, except for one really annoying error. I live in Virginia. I retired in 2012. Prior to that, I lived in Virginia and worked in DC for about 30 years. I pay income taxes in Virginia, not in DC. This year your software concluded that I needed to file state returns in both Virginia and DC, and it would not let go of that idea. I couldn't find any way to tell it no, I do not need to file in DC. It even tried to force me to buy the forms for DC before it would let me file my Virginia return, but fortunately I was able to find a workaround and get my Virginia forms printed. Please fix this bug in next year's edition.
What's great about it: Easy, comprehensive, clear instructions
What's not so great: It tried to make me file 2 state returns
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Love doing my taxes with Turbo!

Turbo tax is fabulous for last minute procrastinating filers like me. I can breeze through the forms & know that you are doing all the crazy number crunching that I used to do by hand and with your last minute updates, know that I am doing it on the most current form. The best feature of all is your link to investment companies so that the confusing data just downloads seemlessly & appears on the correct schedules! Keep it up..love ya & my refunds!
What's great about it: You listened & added my investment companies for ease of download!
What's not so great: Would like to move faster through categories that don't apply.

Help Full Preperation

I have used Turbo Tax for several years and will continue until I get to old or it gets to complicated.
What's great about it: It guides you through step by step to the end.
What's not so great: Could have better explanation of various 1099 MISC entries.

Good Guidance for complicated return

Each year seems to have some improvements that make the overall process clear and understandable. I'm impressed that I can work on my return as info becomes available and have it saved in a secure manner and available when I need to continue work on the return.
What's great about it: Clear, concise
What's not so great: Nothing really disturbing

Easy to Use

I have used in the past and if you have a general tax return it is very easy to use. Questions are specific and the "Explain Button" allows you to get the additional information needed without leaving the page.
What's great about it: Questions are specific enough to make it easy to complete. The explain button very helpful.
What's not so great: Had no Cons.
