Is Turbo Losing It?

And just what do I mean by that? Well, if you are completing the New York State Income Tax form, and entering your Long Term Care Insurance Premium, you then got a page that asked you if you were an "S" corporation, partnership, etc - something totally unrelated to what most people expect - that they are entering this as an individual, alone. This has other people scratching their heads as well as me.
And in the federal forms, I entered my occupation, but it then asked me my occupation a second time, and then job-related expenses. This resulted in a double entry for the same item (union dues), so I deleted the "occupation" entry, and it still retained the original amount of the dues, but it should not have asked me for my occupation twice, in any case.
These are gaffes that should have been caught in any QA process before they went public. They have, for the first time, caused me to question my confidence in Turbo-Tax, and whether they actually walk on water. Apparently, they slip off the log occasionally, into the water - but it better not cost me $$ with the IRS.
What's great about it: Sure, it's "taxes are easy" interface is appealing
What's not so great: But major gaffes that should have been caught by a sixth-grader do not inspire confidence

I have used Turbo Tax for years and I am completely satisfied. My returns have been rather complex in some years and the application has never let me down. Accuracy is of course the most important thing and my returns have been perfect every year.
What's great about it: Easy to use, Comprehensive tool
Pros: I bought or sold investments

TurboTax Is The Best!

TurboTax makes what can be a daunting task much easier to complete. I have great piece of mind when completing my taxes with TurboTax. Simply stated- TurboTax is the best. Keep up the good work!
What's great about it: Accurate, dependable, and fast!
What's not so great: None that come to mind.

Easier each year

I've been using TT for over 12 years and it seems to get easier each year.And now that we can take the standard deduction it's even quicker.
What's great about it: Done in less than 3 hours
What's not so great: Having to wait for the forms to get started

Don't like the new tax rate

This is a great way to handle your taxes if you are not familiar with the tax code, and honestly I am not sure who is anymore. You may not get as large of a refund as if you went with an CPA, but you will be able to sleep at night knowing that your taxes were done properly with integrity. I would like to see the price come down on TurboTax, especially for the state refund, but it is not bad compared to an actual accountant. Sorry TurboTax but I am pulling for a national sales tax so that I don't have to dread this time of year.
What's great about it: This is quick and simple to use for our overly complex tax system.
What's not so great: A little pricey for what you get.

I did my Mom's taxes tonight.... Harder part was getting the information as I did it over the phone. Everything else went smoothly.... Now to get mine done!
What's great about it: Leads you through all items, which jogs a person's memory
What's not so great: Sometimes confusing

Once again this year's version was extremely easy to use. It is wonderful to do taxes in one sitting and be done with it. I will purchase Turbo Tax again next year without a doubt.
