Daughter did her own return!!!!

My daughter filed her taxes for the first time this year and she did it on her own! She followed the instructions as I waited nervously for a cry for help, but I fell asleep. When I woke up she said she was done!!!!
What's great about it: My first time filing daughter did not need my help

step by step and when i needed help the man on the phone answered all my questions and was able to help finish my return.
What's great about it: step by step
What's not so great: long wait time on phone, but understandable.
Pros: I had a baby, My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

TurboTax works

I have used TurboTax for quite a few years. Can't imagine doing taxes manually anymore. It is easy to use and makes it simple to make changes/ corrections. Downloading info from the prior year return is a big help, as well as the ability to download info from many financial institutions. I do find it annoying that when I revisit a section, I end up having to step through questions previously answered. Maybe there is a workaround that I have not discovered, other than going into forms mode. Occasionally I find the instructions are about as clear as the tax code itself. An example is the 8615 forms for children who are claimed as dependents on parents' return.
What's great about it: big time saver

Easy, they asked the questions & I plugged in the

I've always e-filed but this year d/t cut in one state income with taxes withheld over amount earned, was unable to e-file, but able to do the program and then print everything out and send.
What's great about it: Takes last year's general info, has help aids with each question.
What's not so great: 0

Speedy Refund

This is the 3rd year I used Turbo Tax and it was very beneficial. Although the IRS did not allow me to use my legitimate energy tax credit and now being charged a penalty and charge back, I'm not sure who to blame for that.
What's great about it: Guided through with ease
What's not so great: 2011 tax returns allowed energy tax benefit, but IRS rejected.
