TurboTax 2012 Review

I have utilized Turbo Tax for the last 13 years and enjoy filing for my family and small business. I have found Turbo Tax to be straight-forward and user friendly over the years. I have noted more and more improvements each year and usually have no problems with the exception of the 2012 Tax Year. Specifically, the "review for errors" process is becoming more tedious, due to inadequate directions being provided. For instance, the program requested a Section 179 Deduction from a previous year to be entered, However, it did not provide any directions on where the prior year info could be found on the filing (in terms of Form & Line number). This required a call-in to Turbo Tax to clarify. Also, although there is a "Forms" Tab at the top of the page, but there is no clear direction provided that would allow for the user to understand what this function is. It was not until this year, having used Turbo Tax for 13 years, that a customer service rep explained that I could see the actual forms before printing. Since the Review process may require information from a specific form & line number, it is crucial that the "Forms" function be highlighted and include a short explanation of what it does. Printing was tedious this year as well, several forms printed with dark lines across the page. This required printing individual pages this year. Overall the product is excellent but is becoming harder to use and less user friendly.
What's great about it: Constantly seeking to improve the product
What's not so great: Getting harder to use & less user friendly each year

Overall, Great performance from TurboTax ... again

Love the process and the ability to switch between form view and Q&A. TurboTax takes the worry out of tax preparation. Love the It's Deductable for charitable contributions. Now, we only keep record of item donated and don't have to worry about it's value.
What's great about it: Love the ease of the Q&A approach to filling out forms.
What's not so great: Three years in a row that TurboTax didn't like my credit card for State Tax filing fee.

Extremely fast, very efficient

All I needed was the numbers supplied on my w-2's. Turbotax led me through the maze in only a few hours! Your product is easy to understand. All I had to do was fill in the blanks, follow the prompts, and I was done!
What's great about it: Turbotax thought my way through the tax mess
What's not so great: Diong my taxes, but with turbotax it was easy!

So easy to file our taxes

The end user can't go wrong using TurboTax. Even a novice like my husband and myself find the program very descriptive and walks you through each and every step.
What's great about it: It is accurate and provides me all the deductions I can take
What's not so great: Instructions for printing are confusing

What's not so great: should be up to five st ate returns if you purchase deluxe turbo t ax
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

TAXPREPARATION MADE EASY

I HAVE VOLUNTEERED WITH AARP TO PREPARE TAXES FOR THE LOW INCOME. I FOUND TURBO TAX TO BE A LOT EASIER THAN THEIR SOFTWARE.
What's great about it: EASY STEP BY STEP, EVEN A FIRST TIMER COULD DO IT.
What's not so great: NEED TO SEE WHERE THESE ENTRIES ARE POSTED AFTER DONE
