2012 Taxes

Imported financials for the first time this year. Great feature as long as you brokerage house in on the "list"!
What's great about it: It doesn't get much simplier than this! I make a mistake, they catch it.
What's not so great: Not sure how crazy this would be if my taxes were really complicated.

Have used Turbo Tax for many years without issues. We would find it to be really difficult to return to trying to do it by ourselves now.
What's great about it: confidence that it is done correctly, thorough, easy to use
What's not so great: Can't think of any

I've always been a little intimidated by doing my own taxes.
And that has always cost me plenty by haveing a professional do them for me. Well, after talking to a few people that use Turbo tax yearly, I decided to try it. They were absolutely right. It is so easy to use and thorough that I was confident with every step of the way that what I was doing was correct and I am at ease with my decision. Thanks Turbo Tax!

I have used Turbo Tax for years and I love how easy it is to use. If you don't see what your looking for it has a nice help link or you can chat on line with a professional . don't see a form you have used in the past ? No problem they will get it for you...not sure if you have taken all deductions available to you? .. NO Problem they will find it. I have done my taxes myself for over 20 years and when this program came out...I jumped on it. YOU GOTTA TRY IT TO SEE FOR YOURSELF HOW GREAT IT IS !
What's great about it: Easy to use, gives you the stuff you need
What's not so great: I haven't found one yet.

First Time ....Better than Vegas ;)

Overall experience was wonderful and will continue to use this software in the future. One prior H&R Block family happily converted =)
What's great about it: User friendly tool. Both efficient and effective. Made e-filing a breeze. Liked the W2 import function with ADP.
What's not so great: Slight issue initially with NY State Filing upload, however C.S. representative was uber helpful and knew the fix.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

only suggestion is to review 1099-R instructions espically part with list of options to check where it came from and entering info at bottom of screen....could be clearer...hope i did it correctly
What's great about it: like it and used it last 4 years ..generally very user friendly
What's not so great: 1099-R instructions not clear ..last part may want to review...be more explicit

The guide is very useful and extensive to capture items that are not common knowledge.
Need to use less technical language and use terminology that non-accountants can understand. I have a good understanding of accounting language so I had little problems but I can see where the average person may have problems understanding what the program is actually asking.
What's great about it: Great guide walkthrough.
What's not so great: Language too technical.

Overall, I am satisfied with the product progression. I've been a TurboTax user for over 5 years now. It's getting more and more straight forward to do taxes every year, especially, when the program gathers last year's information. It saves so much time in re-typing and re-entering basic information. e-filing is included in the price and no hidden fees at checkout. Excellent app !
What's great about it: Streamlined user interface, was able to get right into the categories that affect me the most. Like the guided tour.
What's not so great: Switching between the Guide and Forms sometimes leaves you out of place.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)
