Form 1116 Line 10 -
Turbotax automatically prepares a statement showing detailed computation for the carryovers. Which is good.
However, on error check it keeps insisting that a statement be prepared. Which is some what bad as it creates confusion.
Please fix for 2013. Thanks

Once you issued the update to fix the Residential energy efficient property credit ( 04-10-13) for the desktop version this program is very helpful and easy to use

Easy but updates aren't smooth

Updating the software is usually tedious. Not that it takes long...we have a fast internet connection so that's not a problem. The problem is that sometimes it prompts you to update once you've reached a point, then it updates, then it kicks you back several steps. This is annoying. It should at least tell you something like, "Your updates are complete, we now need to review some steps to make sure we didn't miss anything." Instead, I just get booted back and am clicking the same "continue" buttons to back to where I was.
I'm a busy man, I can't be bothered by clicking "continue" buttons all day...
Just kidding...but it is annoying. I just want to great product to be terrific.

What's great about it: Walks you through basically everything.
What's not so great: When it prompts you to update it may kick you back several steps from where you where.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

I reccommend Turbo Tax to all my friends that have trouble with either finding a tax person or just want to tackle doing stuff on their own. It is by far the best software I have ever used for taxes and it is super easy to use. When I first used it I had already done my taxes manually and in the time it took me to do it online, I was kicking myself for not using it all those years I did it by hand.
What's great about it: Easeof going through each section and descriptions are very clear
What's not so great: Lots of updates, but managable

Turbo tax had alot of errors this year for Minnesota.
It was also very confusing compared to previsous years.
I am not sure if I will buy Turbo tax next year because it was really bad this year.

Tax Prep 4 Dummies!!!

Have been using TurboTax for years & is equivilent to a "EZ Tax Preparation 4 Dummies". So far I have not had 2 resort to additional help 4 my returns. EZ as 1-2-3!!!!
What's great about it: Great product, easier, better & way cheaper than using a tax preparer!
What's not so great: easier method of browsing to edit without going throught the whole step by step method.

Great tax software. I have used Turbo Tax for years. Difficult to find the right place to deduct Military Retirement Income from North carolina Income.
