TurboTax is just that doing your taxes at turbo speed
What's great about it: user friendly
What's not so great: I waited to long to try it
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Best In Class

I have used Turbo Tax for 7 years now. Through good times in employment and bad, I have aways gotten the best return and never had a problem. I will be using TT for years to come!
What's great about it: I have been using Turbo Tax for years. It is easy to use, easy to navigate and I would recommend it to everyone.
What's not so great: Cons???

The new tax laws and deductions

Turbo Tax keeps up-to-date on all of the new tax laws and deductions. Even after all of this your refund amount goes down,even though you are paying more taxes. The middle class of tax payers once again pay more tax, then get less back on their tax refunds. What is wrong with this picture. My state taxes went from $456 per year to $1256, that means it tripled in just one year , $800 more than last year. So now it costs our family $67.00 more per month to live here.
What's great about it: Turbo Tax Updates
What's not so great: Higher taxs for the middle class

Does the job

Can be challenging to remove forms that were not required nor needed. Couldn't find a way to make the view easier to see for those with sight problems.
On a similar note, why not make the SAME Quicken programs available for the Mac as are available for Windows. The current programs are totally unacceptable!

I have always been very happy with this product until this year.. Had a VERY hard time loading it to begin with, then it would NOT let me load and work on my State return at all. There was NO help available. No answers. No customer service available..
I want a phone number. Clearly available. I also want a refund if I don't get my State!

Why pay an accountant for simple returns? Our return had only investment property to deal with and TurboTax handled that quite nicely.

Easy step-by-step

Back to using Turbo Tax after paying a very good accountant for years. My previous returns were complicated & I wanted accountant to do. Now my return filings are straight-forward. Turbo Tax filing was easy (getting e-file PIN from IRS was not as simple). I downloaded the TurboTax app to check on my refund. I look forward to using TurboTax in years ahead.

What's great about it: easily guided me through my return & explained each item. Easy to import from ItsDeductible
What's not so great: Seemed to change the deduction amounts from imported ItsDeductible - maybe import into TurboTax was at current values?
