Easy to use

I have learned from past experience to bypass the many steps for itemizing since I didn't have enough deductions. It would be most helpful if TurboTax showed the user how much they would need to itemize immediately prior to those steps. Its gruelling filling in medical data, sales taxes, charities... just to find out I don't even come close to having the dollar amount deductions needed to make itemizing worthwhile. Providing the user with an estimate prior to those steps would be very user friendly advice.
Also, I had 3 K-1s to fill out. I went to the Turbo Tax form directly to fill these out. Box 20 T1, T2, T3, T4 on your form don't match up with the K-1 form I received in the mail. Also I believe it was 17F1 where the description did not match 17F1 on the form I received in the mail. I think the description matched 17F3 so that's where I put my input.
I have been using TurboTax for years. I especially like the fact that it pulls in the information from previous years.
What's great about it: the ability to move from step by step to forms view
What's not so great: It would be very helpful if you showed how much dollars I would need to itemize

dazed and confused but finally finished

1. it would have been a lot easier to know all the order in which questions would be asked since it was not the same as on the 1040. then I might have had the supporting documents on hand in the same order.
2. while completing personal info, turbo tax asks: "were you blind or dead during 2012?" if I were dead, I wouldn't be filing.
A better question might be: did your spouse or dependent die during 2012, or are you filing for a parent who may have died during 2012?
3. while I can appreciate the values assigned to donations in turbo tax, if would be nice to have on-hand, a totally visible list of the categories and subcategories so I would know which donations would have to be listed on my own instead of having to search through all the categories only to find my particular type of donation was not listed. listing for the 8233 took a lot longer than it should have.
4. just before filing electronically, turbo tax identified several errors that required correction before transmittal. why weren't these identified during the review? turbo tax also refused to accept the zip code from one metlife 1099R which was input exactly as printed on 2 different 1099Rs from the same company. my input was exactly as specified : nnnnn or nnnnn-nnnn.

User Friendly TurboTax

I have been using TurboTax the last 8 years and each year I have become even more of a fan. I recommend TurboTax to anyone who mentions tax programs. Extremely user friendly and the process seems to get faster each year.

Easy and Fast to Complete and File

Even with self employment, it's easy to find all possible deductions and get back the largest possible refund.
What's great about it: Makes sure you don't miss anything
