I think Turbo tax is very helpful and easy. Last year was my first time using Turbo Tax. I used it again this year for the ease. I would recommend it to anyone wanting to do their own taxes at home. Turbo Tax was recommended to me by a good friend!
What's great about it: Nice step by step instructions
What's not so great: Just having to carefully read. This is a fast paced world!

I'm very impressed with how easy the Turbo Tax Software is to use. I highly recommend it to anyone wishing to do their own taxes. I plan on using Turbo Tax again next year.

Comprehensive and easy to use

I believe there should be more automatic sharing of information from previously saved TurboTax files. In other words, if information is used, the current version of TurboTax should state that (maybe a pop-up balloon with the information).
Also, in reviewing information previously entered, I believe TurboTax should allow a way to review all sections with information entered vs. either a) section by section or b) all sections - regardless of whether or not they contain user information.
What's great about it: Pulls information from previous returns done in TurboTax
What's not so great: Does not relay enough information from previous returns

Turbo Tax simplifies tax preparation and makes it a learning experience. I am very satisfied with the product.
What's great about it: Very easy as you're led through the topics
What's not so great: The charge for deducting from my checking account

Love that the program is so detailed it caught everything, even things I would not have thought of--best program ever for picking up on all your deductions. Also love that it asks me the questions, even questions my tax accountant didn't think to ask! Had a lot more deductions than I thought!
What's great about it: thorough, smarter than my accountant

The One for the Money

I have a degree in accounting--took my first college tax course in 1964 and discovered I had a real knack for it . I also completed my first computer programming course the same year; the first of many that followed. I've used TurboTax for myself and family since it was first available. Even if you know nothing about taxes TurboTax will walk you though the process. On the other hand if you know how to do your taxes, you can go to "Forms" and get just what you need for your particular situation. However you choose to use it, TurboTax does the "busy" work, keeps you on track and makes it fast and easy. If you also use Quicken, which I do, you will not miss anything. With Quicken your data can be organized for taxes and flow to TurboTax. With the two you can plan and budget to achieve your goals. Some say that if you don't know where you are going, any road will take you #often with very unpleasant surprises and financial consequences!#. Use TurboTax and keep everything you are entitled to, avoid very unpleasant financial surprises and achieve your goals.
