TURBO TAX DID EVERYTHING BROUGHT ALL THE
DEDUCTIONS RITE TO ME NO SEARCING INVOLVED.
WAS VERY SATISIFIED.
TURBO TAX WAS EASY AND SIMPLE TO USE

If only other software were this easy to use

The model that Turbo Tax has used for years is perfect for non experts (and who amongst us is an expert on the tax code?). Asking questions one can answer and leading the user through the myriad of possibilities in a step by step fashion is the best way to capture the relevant information. Then the software takes over and does the heavy lifting of calculating the appropriate taxes and filling out the forms correctly. I found the experience just this side of enjoyable.
What's great about it: Step by step with questions one can answer

TurboTax: Benevolent Taskmaster

I enjoyed using TurboTax because it took me through the labyrinth of details with a minimum of confusion and uncertainty. The program minimized repetitive keystroking and got right down to business.
I was pleasantly surprised at the size of my refund. I was also pleasantly surprised that my fears about filing as a recently-retired teacher were quickly erased.
I had one problem when I tried to finish up an efile. I hadn't been able to find the HIN number for a boat that I donated to charity. In spite of my using the help menu, TurboTax wouldn't let me file without that number. I finally made a bunch of phone calls and got the number and everything worked out fine.
In the long run, I was pleased that, like a good parent, TurboTax forced me to do the right thing.

For the umpteenth time would like to arrange Int/Div and Charitable entries in my choice of order instead of your FIFO methodology.
What's great about it: Easier than slogging through the paper forms
What's not so great: You don't always provide a data source for a number on a form

If I am to be honest, the only problem I found was that it is hard to get answers to your questions. I tried the community, but it was not helpful.
What's great about it: So easy, I know, i use to do them by hand.
What's not so great: Nothing.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)
