So simple! Taxes done in a snap!

I love the ease of using Turbo Tax! I don't always understand taxes, but with this program I know what I'm doing! I also really like that my information is stored and easily transferred from year to year!
What's great about it: An easy to use and understand program...even if you don't understand taxes!
What's not so great: In some special cases, outside help and paperwork may be required.

I have been using TurboTax for a very long time. I liked it better when the questions regarding a particular form were grouped rather than splitting income from expense. I have even managed to get my children to use TurboTax - it can not be too bad.
What's great about it: After I get the data assembled, I feel I am done.
What's not so great: seperated income from expenses on a couple of forms
Pros: I bought or sold investments

Turbo Tax 2012

2012 Turbo Tax was especially helpful this year becasue my life circumstances had changed drastically. Lost my only son unexpectedly and his personal investments etc. were transferred to me - his Mother. I had never been exposed to stocks, capital gains, rollovers etc. Turbo Tax walked me through it. I especially liked the help buttons which explained in more detail the option selected - pros and cons.
What's great about it: Very detailed for the non accounting person
What's not so great: None

Allowed me to try out different numbers to see if it would help for a refund before having to accumulate the receipts that would be needed. If it wouldn't help, then it saved me time in going through all of my papers!

TT maintains an orderly and organized approach to preparation process, transfer from previous year, update on latest tax forms, and company that supports project on an on-going and professional basis.
What's great about it: Organized and understandable approach
What's not so great: State filing fees, and ability to speak with live person

Have used TurboTax for several years. I trust it but its is best if your return is not too complicated. I am not sure that it is getting better but it is reliable and fairly accepting of mistakes. I use the easy answer steps because I am not familiar with tax forms like I was before I started using it. Using it is much quicker for me than doing it by hand and having to make calls to the IRS because I wasn't sure of a set of directions.
What's great about it: updates figures quickly
What's not so great: had trouble figuring out what to do with the social security repayment.
