What To Expect

Turbo Tax is so easy to file your federal or state return it makes you believe you are a tax accountant. Although I know nothing about the tax code or accounting, Turbo Tax makes filing so easy that anyone can do it. The saving grace of the system is the software does all the checking for you. No numbers to add and no errors to worry about. You simple enter the information requested and there a finished product appears.
The sad part for me was I owned taxes, that is not the fault of Turbo Tax
What's great about it: Easy as pie
What's not so great: No cons
Pros: I bought or sold investments

Dependable and easy to use year after year

This is my 5th year using Turbo Tax and it is the ONLY way to prepare your own personal taxes and be sure that you got all your deductions and information correct. E file is great saves time and you know your refund will arrive quickly.
What's great about it: simple steps to follow, easy to switch between forms and step by step ,error review helpful and reassuring
What's not so great: Net Operating Loss - No Help

I wasn't able to review my estimated tax computations for tax to be paid for 2013 before I finally filed the Federal return. Maybe I missed a question somewhere. Apparently it was not possible to make a payment for the 2013 1st quarter with my return... correct? You did provide the proper forms and I have filed and paid separately. Bottom line excellent software! I'll continue to use it each year.

Self guided screen

Instead of returning me to the top of the page after completing an item, bring me back to the place I left. It is time consuming and error producing to force me to scroll back to where I left off.
Create a link to the self guided page from the error check page to make it easier to return to the correct errors.
What's great about it: last years figures shown with current
What's not so great: program returns you to the top of the self guided page each time

Have used Turbo Tax for over ten years. Wouldn't try any other.
What's great about it: Makes you toe the line. Won't let you cheat
What's not so great: Tough to enter a short sale.

The Best Tax Software

Excellent product!! I never received such accuracy and also have gotten much bigger refunds than when I was using a paid preparer!
What's great about it: Accuracy, ease of use.
What's not so great: Sometimes BACK button takes you further back than you want to go.
