I have been using Turbo Tax for over 10 years. Every year I save time and money doing my return myself, it is so easy to follow the step by step instructions. I tell all my friends to use Turbo Tax

Easy to navigate and select what was needed

Turbo tax walked through each entry needed and made it wasy for me to know what was needed to enter. To be able to pick up and enter new information was easy. Didn't need a 'Tax For Dummies' book for this one!
What's great about it: Able to select a specific entry
What's not so great: Having to pay so much for efile state return

The whole process was easy and explained very well. I have used other programs in the past that were confusing and complicated to move back and forth with. One thing you might do is direct the user on changing from forms to process. I only discovered this on a phone call to your rep. By the way that was a good experience as well.
All together I was pleased with the program and look forward to doing our taxes next year with turbotax.

The program found every deduction that I could possibly take, the calculation update on refunds and or balance due is constantly updating which is a feature that I enjoy about the program. The help section is extremely thorough should you need to use it.

Aggravated.

I have used Turbo Tax for many years. This year the software was the worst. Too many glitches. So then you simply WAIT and hope someone reads the questions and fixes all the things that are wrong. Very aggravating and no real support.
What's great about it: Easy to follow questions.
What's not so great: Too many glitches in software this year.

Got a refund...

I wasn't sure I was doing my HSA contributions correctly because I have automatic payroll deduction and didn't know if I had to enter the YTD number from my last paycheck for the year or if it had already been calculated. The help section didn't really answer the question clearly; someone else had the same question I did. Ultimately, I think I did it right, but it takes some interpretation. A better explanation would be very helpful with the HSA portion of contribution information.
What's great about it: Relatively simple process as long as you have everything together.
What's not so great: Not so good with questions about HSA contributions

Continue to please

Even though I spoke to two individuals, I was frustrated that I could not transfer my 2011 data to my 2012 file.
We collectively decided that the 2011 file was corrupted in some way, so I just entered all data myself.
Hope next year I won't have to do that.
