Transfer of prior years info always good. Much improvement on local taxes, but still need info on what's next with local. Paper file - done with state - what?
What's great about it: Easier each year
What's not so great: Can still improve local

After federal and state rejection (my fault) the refund amount on the guarantee page does not match the amount on the tax filing documents.
What's great about it: almost painless
What's not so great: refund amount on header does not match amount on theguarrantee page

My Federal & State return ended up being 62 pages long.
I am glad I used Turbo Tax to complete my Taxes!!!!!
What's great about it: Software is really like GPS it goes step by step. I needed to verify some items and support was great
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Harder

I was under the impression that the state return (1) would be efiled for free. I could have done it for much cheaper at other sites. Gonna have to think about whether I want to use Turbo next year.
What's not so great: I thought the state return would be filed for free.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Less friendly this year

Granted, I had a more complicated tax year, with federal tax credits for car and energy items -- software handled that well. But I've filed with TurboTax annually since the 80s and have had trades and 401k changes etc many times. But this year, things were just harder to follow. Even at the end, it flagged my return as having an 'error' when it was not an error, but a law that required me to do paper submission by mail. My spouse and I both would have trouble interpreting what it was telling us. In the end, it was good! Just not as easy as in the past...
What's great about it: Covers everything
What's not so great: Had to search harder for information; less intuitive
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I bought or sold investments

What's Schedule K-1?
on April 10, 2013
Posted by: Protege
I received a Schedule K-1 for the first time in 2012 after a merger affected a small amount of stock I inherited, and I doubt i would have figured out all the forms to complete without TurboTax (which did it all automatically when I put in the numbers).
What's great about it: I like not having to figure out which forms to use or performing multiple calculations to look for savings.
