Mostly good, but some forms difficult

Foreign Earned Income is unclear; Foreign tax treatment can be confusing. 1099's are enterred and placed in particular forms, but hard to trace back.
Need option to selectively print pages of forms or non-print selected pages.
Home office is confusing.

What's great about it: Mostly good, but
What's not so great: Schedule C is difficult to revise and update; room to improve.

2012 taxes

Great method of preparing and filing taxes. Have used TurboTax for several years. Wouldn't want to file any other way.
What's great about it: Loved the imports, navigation very simple
What's not so great: Sometimes you have to answer the same questions over again when you go back through the process.

I would recommend using this tax preparation tool because it guides you and the end results is it saves you money

Easy Tax Return

I am Married and filing separate most years but I always like to check which filing status would be best for my family. I had to prep the taxes both separate and jointly to find out. It would be nice if there was a way that the program would make it possible to do this simultaneously so it wouldn't take as long. Even with that little drawback, the program was easy to understand and the help buttons perfect.
What's great about it: Not a big computer person but this made it easy.
What's not so great: Reviewing my filing options as I had to go through all the steps to see which filing status would work best for me.

Very good ease of use

I enjoyed the 2012 version. We run on both Mac & Windows pc's and they are very similar, both very easy to use.
The system allows you to be guided through the categories, or you can jump right to the category you need to enter.

Turbotax wins again

I have used Turbotax for the last 7 years. The system is VERY easy to use. In using the easy guide system, every single step is covered. On 2 occasions, I have had my taxes reviewed by a professional just to make sure I really do get the biggest refund. In both cases, that is exactly what happened. The best part is that I can get my taxes done by a professional without actually having to pay a professional.
What's great about it: Easy guide covers EVERYTHING
What's not so great: missed the review were I could compare my taxes to the average

Efficient Execution!

Loved how quickly the data from past returns populated this year's returns. The state tax return was seamless. This made doing the taxes less taxing!

I use Turbo Tax for the whole family. It is easy and every year the information from the year before can be uploaded saving a lot of time!!
