Refund made Easy

Intuitive design. The on screen prompts really help to walk you through the whole process. I also love the fact that it can import the data from last years filling. I will use this software again next year!
What's great about it: The EasyGuide really helps you to enter all the data and guide you through all the paperwork

First Time Experience

Some categories were not as clear on explaining what it was asking for or covered even in the extra info tab; sounded like jargon to someone doing it for the first time. It was difficult to navigate back once something was entered incorrectly, and once I did, it didn't change until I did it for a third time in the very end once I reviewed the final form. Took about 5 hours even though I was filing a simple return.
What's great about it: Step by step process, multiple review times and checking information
What's not so great: Confusing during navigating back to correct, and understanding some categories
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Easy as pie!

The "import" feature is really great. It makes downloading and reviewing stock transactions a breeze. This is especially helpful when, if you buy/sell 1000 shares of stock, it shows up on the forms as individual transactions of smaller numbers of shares. That would be a real pain to handle by hand.
What's great about it: Very quick and simple to use.
What's not so great: None

i did not use Turbo Tax in 2011 because in 2010 I got a defective TT dvd which did not allow me to file electronically. I had to make copies and mail them in in 2010. In 2011 I went to a tax preparer. She told me my 2010 tax returns were fine so that is why I decided to return to Turbo Tax this year. I hope to have continued success with it.

Outstanding product!

I worked as a contractor during the year. This caused me a few qualms about doing my own taxes this year. With this product I was able to complete all the forms needed to detail all my expenses and still feel at ease submitting my tax forms to the IRS.
What's great about it: Ease of use, walk you through all the steps required to to complete the forms.
What's not so great: None that I can pinpoint.

Guided me through the tax experience. Relatively painless. An improvement I would suggest is once you have entered your zip code the program has enough information to verify your sales tax by referring to a table: some specific taxes such as a Latte tax (I/m serious, Seattle had one), could cause someone to enter the incorrect sales tax percentage if the first receipt they grab is from Starbucks (planning on staying up late to do their taxes....) Another improvement would be the ability to make one change and then have everything re-calculate; perhaps you realized one interest statement was missing so you entered an estimate? On the whole, all the time-consuming data -reentry tasks were taken care of and the tax thing was done relatively painlessly!
What's great about it: Brought forward all the repeat stuff
What's not so great: Could not make one update and recalculate
