Almost Perfect Program

1. I had a problem when I opened TurboTax 2011 to check on some information from my 2011 return when I already had TurboTax 2012 open. My computer completely locked up and I had to completely turn it off and restart it.
2. My wife and I always file joint federal and start returns, however, TurboTax did not supply an electronic signature for my wife when filing my state return. Both signatures were provided for the federal return. I wasn't sure I needed an electronic signature for my wife from the information presented during filing. The screen did not say I needed it.
What's great about it: Guided easy to understand method with almost no bugs
What's not so great: Efile of State return did not automatically fill in my wife's electronic signature information.

Simple!

Use it every year. Love how it can import from previous years really saves time and able to keep a pdf when your done so you don't have to keep a hard copy.
What's great about it: It prompts for all the infromation
What's not so great: not always sure what to do under special circumstances

Turbo Tax to the rescue

Turbo Tax has always been easy to follow and has great explanations of each catagory, etc. Cant do without it each year.

Excellent

I've been using TurboTax since tax year 1997. It is very convenient when I start a new return that my personal information and information on every organization that I received a w-2, 1099, 1098, and gave charitable contributions the previous year are copied to the new return.
And it is easy how they walk you through the return. The help documentation is very thorough too.
I am very pleased with TurboTax, and I definitely plan on using them next year.

Still some issues for consultants and Schedule C

Not sure why this bug hasn't been fixed, but for folks who have something as simple as basic royalties from a book written many years ago, not any actual personal business, it still forces you through all the Schedule C worksheet. There's no way to actually get it to take you through Schedule C-EZ. There has to be an easier way.
What's great about it: Very easy, straightforward
What's not so great: as in previous years, forces you into Schedule C, not Schedule C-EZ

Newly Divorced Paying Taxes

All smooth except for finding out I cannot claim child care expenses as non-custodial parent. Went in error circles for a bit in the software trying to clear that up.
