One Minor Snag

Through an error of my own, I failed to enter my property tax paid in 2012. It showed me owing money this year, instead of receiving a return when I was finished. I went back and found the error and corrected it, but the difference in values from 2011 to 2012 was so great, I would think the software should have caught this. It should check to see that I still own a home, and then compare the differences in property tax paid. If the difference is greater than a certain amount (my difference was roughly $3K) it should trip a fault and ask the user what's going on.
What's great about it: accuracy
What's not so great: failed to catch a major difference

Good and bad

You would think after so many years, Turbotax would be configured to take you back to the section you just finished, not back to the start of the main catagory (income, deductions, etc) where you have to manually scroll down to the next section.
For those of us with state sales tax deductions, you are supposed to enter the various taxing locales with various rates. However when you try to enter more than one locale, if gives you an error saying you can't live in two locales in the same calendar year.
Overall though, we have used it for years and it is a relatively painfree process, even for complex returns.

HAD TO KEEP REENTERING AFTER 15 TRYS

THE WORST TAX EXPERIENCE EVER HAD TO KEEP DELETING MY FILE AND RE-ENTERING IT OVER AND OVER AGAIN 15 TIMES THE CALCULATOR KEPT STICKING ON HOLD WITH TAX EXPERT AND TAX TECH FOR MORE THAN 55 MINUTES I FINALLY GOT MY MAXIMIZED REFUND AFTER THE 15TH TRY. IT MADE ME ALMOST HATE TO FILE AGAIN NEXT YEAR

Printing is bad this year.

Instruction call for a voucher to be sent in with an amended return, does not print any or show one in the forms.
What's not so great: I have never had so many problems printing as I have this year.

Disappointed

Multi year user. Disappointing changes vs. 2011 version resulted in confusing pop up screens, "blue prompts" that did not work, etc.
What's great about it: good guide through preparation phase
What's not so great: bad final printing / pin access / new confusing screens for closeout

Since most of my income information is the same each year, it would be easier if the program offered to pull data from prior years returns rather than having to reenter the same data and increase chances of mistakes . My eyesight is not getting better.

Got Me A Big Refund!

I have been using Turbo Tax for seven years and I have always felt that I received a great refund each time and no problem with the filing.
What's great about it: I liked the ease of working with the software. It made filing much easier.
What's not so great: I would like more help in defining difficult terms.
