Very easy to use, sensible and I like the year to year comparison to identify missing information or potential errors in keying.
What's great about it: Easy to use, walks through all steps
What's not so great: Referred to other IRS forms not available in software

TurboTax make a painful process almost easy

I always look forward to having taxes done, but never look forward to doing them. TurboTax takes a lot of pain out of this annual duty.
With 10 kids it's nice to have all their data pulled in from the previous year's return.
Nice to to compare to the previous year to make sure I don't miss something this year that I caught last year.
What's great about it: It pulls lots of info from last years return so you feel like you're half done when you are just beginning
What's not so great: The step-by-step can be tedious at times
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

I like this Program!

I am not a wizard at doing taxes or anything else real fast. Everything I do is slow and thoughful. That is just one of the reasons Turbo Tax is my kind of program. Nothing is done without you being able to check what and why you are doing it. I can read and understand each items reasoning and why I'm doing it. Before I used Turbo Tax, it was hard for me to ask questions of the person doing our taxes. I was always told 'read the booklet and it will tell you everything.' Wrong. The booklet did not tell me everything. Then a friend did my taxes for me one year using her Turbo Tax and since then I have been buying it every year and doing it myself. My husband always says to me "you do it so fast." Remember what I said in the beginning? I don't do anything fast. But, Turbo Tax guides me and makes me look like I'm a tax pro!
What's great about it: Easy to Understand
What's not so great: I couldn't find an explanation of line 28.

Turbotax puts the power in your hands!

I have filed my own taxes since I was 15 years old. (That was 33 years ago!) For years I used the old tax booklets I used to get at the Post Office, and spent hours studying tax code applicable to me and my situation each year. Thankfully, Turbotax came along, making even a voracious reader like myself grateful for not having to wade through tax code every year. If you are filing taxes, you should be using Turbotax! Not only is it easy, but I still learn about whats new and applicable to my situation, but instead of having to find out myself, Turbotax shows me in easy to read and understand format!
What's great about it: No high, outrageous "Tax Guy" fees!
What's not so great: None
