HAPPY FOR YEARS

I HAVE USED TURBO TAX FOR YEARS AND WAS ALWAYS HAPPY WITH IT. I LOST MY WIFE LAST YEAR AND I THOUGHT THIS YEARS TAXES WOULD BE COMPLICATED. I FEARED THAT ADDING TO THAT COMPLICATION WOULD BE THE TRANSFER OF RETIREMENT FUNDS TO MY NAME. I FEARED EVERYTHING WOULD BE A NIGHTMARE, BUT TURBOTAX UNDERSTOOD AND HELPED ME TO GET THROUGH THE TAX FILING WITHOUT DOUBTS OR QUESTIONS. THANKS TURBO TAX!
What's great about it: HAS MADE TAX TIME EASY AND LESS STRESSFUL

Ease of checking your return

Displaying the past years details while completing my return made it easy to ensure that I was not missing anything. With the tax laws changing and the forms changing, this was a good safe gaurd to make sure I cought everything.

Good for the most part

My only problem with turbo tax this year was that I had trouble doing the income averaging for farmers. Turbotax only asked me to enter the 2011 info on part 1 of schedule J. When I printed the instructions to part J from the IRS it was clear to me that I needed info from 2010 and 2009 as well. This made about a $500 difference in my tax bill. I'm still not completely sure if I did the right thing to override what turbotax said. I could not find any turbotax online help to correspond with to find out.
What's great about it: Easy to use, carries over info from previous years.
What's not so great: Confusion over income averaging.

Another Great Year!

Overall, this has been an exceptional product. It has performed very well for me over the last 6 years. I am looking forward to next year's return which will probably be harder to do.
What's great about it: Really easy to figure things out - and sort through documents.
What's not so great: Still difficult to read and watch the actual forms being filled out as you make entries. Maybe a larger screen will he.

TurboTax for an Old Guy

I have been using Turbotax for many years without major problems, but this year, it ran painfully slowly on the same computer I have been using for 6-years. Also, this year, some of the questions requiring a decision seem poorly worded and are difficult to answer. In addition, and particularly troublesome is the transfer of info from K-1 partnership returns to TT. Some of the boxes on the K-1 have * inputs which require data from supplementary sheets to the K-1, but TT does not give directions on how to enter these values into the data sheets.
What's great about it: Comprehensive, leads me very well
What's not so great: Some language is ambiguous, runs slowly on XP with Pentium

Our family has used your program for years. My husband showed me how to use your program before he died and that allows me to continue to use it.
What's great about it: easy to use
What's not so great: sometimes it is confusing when I try to go back to certain things- union dues caused me a problem this year

A Joy to use once again. I especially like having a PDF copy of all my past tax returns in case I need them quickly.
What's great about it: Quick, Easy to follow, Fun to use.
What's not so great: Charge 10.00 more and include State Filing as well.
