You really need to know what you are doing because it is so automated and it is easy to slip up on some issues.
What's great about it: Quick and easy
What's not so great: Short on explanations
Pros: I bought or sold investments

This really is a good product. Of course there are always questions to be asked. But for the most part, as long as you know what to ask, the answers can be found in the help section. I did not have too much trouble finding the answers that I requred.
I remember the good old days when I mailed everything. And it seemed to take for ever to be processed and mailed back to you.
Thank you, Turbo Tax for making filing taxes almost completely painless!

Keeps getting easier to use

Liked the new bookmarks for places to go back to, with ability to add comments or explanation for why need to revisit. This could be even better by refining places to jump back into, e.g. when doing business income and expenses (Sched. C), which can be lengthy, provide ability to jump into the middle of this rather than starting at the beginning and having to page back through stuff already complete to get to the area that needs to be modified or changed. All in all, excellent!

Second time I did my extended taxes on Deluxe. I like it because I now have a better understanding of what the IRS is and what it does.
What's great about it: Step by Step, deductions you would not even think about but are legal
What's not so great: Some additional explanation might be nice on disc but on line help is good.

I have been using TurboTax for many years and it has been very helpful and easy. Reading each question carefully is very important so that you answer the questions properly in order to get the best deduction or to make sure that you don't miss a deduction.
What's great about it: Most areas are easy to understand and follow.
What's not so great: As with all government related things some items were difficult to understand.
