So very very easy!

Why anyone would do taxes with paper & pen anymore is beyond me. Love that as you are going through the federal return, most of the work on the state return is completed as well. Step-by-step guides are super easy.
What's great about it: Love the tracking of the refund as I go through the return
What's not so great: No cons!

I have been using TurboTax since 1988. It only gets better and better each year.
What's great about it: ALL

I was required to call Tech Support to help me with my return as I was missing important questions from my copy of TurboTax. After calling I received immediate response from Douglas regarding Incident #405322622.
I greatly appreciated his help and consideration. I was able to complete my return generating a tax refund which otherwise would not have been available to me.

I have used Turbotax since the 1990's, so it seems this is the only way I have filed my taxes. Now my children use it and love it.
What's great about it: Very friendly
What's not so great: Unusual items not easy to find

Getting harder for people who know how to do taxes

The program is set up to be very simple for first time tax filers. But in order to make a simple change on let's say insurance for schedule C you have to go through an advertisement each time and several pages of questions that have already been answered. Also, you should be able to tell the program that you don't want the slow guide me option, but instead every time you select a section it has an intro page then another to ask you again if you want to explore on your own.
What's great about it: Imported data from last year and some W2
What's not so great: couldn't import W-2 from ADP, too hard to make simple changes

I think Turbo Tax is a great tool even when tax returns start getting complicated with relocation, retirement, etc.
Adding additional states is easy to accomplish also where several years ago could get messy.
