Very impressed

I find this to be far superior to an accountant, because I get a sense of what's going on. It's a guide, instead of a proxy, if that makes any sense.
I do wish that all payments could be unified so that I didn't have to go to Intuit's payment page after I'd already submitted a payment to the IRs.
What's great about it: quick, clear, complete
What's not so great: payment process is not streamlined
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

How to Survive Tax Time
on April 9, 2013

All went well except for estimated tax payments. Turbo Tax doubled up one of my payments and I had to go to the Forms section to correct the error. Turbo Tax also reported a phantom local tax payment which I again had to correct in the Forms section.
What's great about it: Easy to use
What's not so great: Had a problem with estimated tax payments

I was able to get help quickly when I needed it. The person from TurboTax was great! She was able to help me fix my problem in no time.
What's great about it: It was very easy to do, but when I ran into a glitch, the help was excellent!

As I was saying in the "Cons" comment, If you have a question, but would be better to have a person from Turbo Tax to answer your question, not just another user of Turbo Tax. Maybe with the Audit Defense that is purchased, you could have one to three questions answered by the tax pros.
Otherwise, I like to deal with Turbo Tax.
What's great about it: It is so easy to just fill-in the blanks. It's deductible also helps a great deal.
What's not so great: There are questions that come up. It would be helpful to have a tax person from Turbo Tax to answer your questions.

As usual doing my taxes with Turbo Tax was a great time saver and automatic arithmetic checker. Comparing data from previous years is a great help to make sure nothing is being left out or entered incorrectly.
One thing I would like to see changed for next year is this. Some data entry boxes open up a small worksheet in which to aggregate multiple entries. While this is obviously useful, when you are just looking at the data entry boxt, here is no indication that this is going to happen. Instead when you start typing in the box, it not only opens the worksheet, but also replaces the text on the first line obliterating what you had there from the year before. It would be much friendlier if these data entry boxes had a "open worksheet" checkbox, so you would not get surprised every time. Besides there should be a way to open a worksheet for any data entry box.
What's great about it: Liked the new summary column that made moving around easier.
What's not so great: Past years did a better job of importing data from Quicken.
