This was easy to follow and had good explanations for terms or catagories I didn't understand. And I got a higher refund than what a tax preparation service was estimating for me! Thank You!

I never worry about doing my taxes since I started using Turbo Tax 7 years ago. A friend purchased another brand one year and ended up throwing it out and buying Turbo Tax. I know a CPA who uses it every year. I just love TURBO TAX.
What's great about it: Everything
What's not so great: Nothing

I have used other resources in the past, but Turbo-Tax has them all beat. I've been a satisfied user since 1997. I've never been audited, A simple walk through, following the prompts, and the head aches never appear. The fear of doing my personal taxes are gone. What an investment!
What's great about it: ease of use, lots of help available, simplified tax documentation process
What's not so great: none
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I bought or sold investments

Another year, another TurboTax return

I've been using TurboTax or MacinTax since the '90s. It's part of my tax filing tradition. Each year, I buy it. I have all these old versions of TurboTax loaded on my PC. If only I simply bought TurboTax once, and bought the new yearly modules each year. Is it truly necessary for me to keep TurboTax versions from 2009, 2010, 2011 and 2012 all installed on my PC in case I'm audited and I need to bring up the old files? It's great that TurboTax is the same year after year, it definitely makes it much easier for me to do my returns each year. But I also wish I could quickly and easily estimate next year's tax situation, and enter information during the year, instead of having a massive project to sort through everything and enter it each February/March/April. Overall, though, I'm extremely satisfied, and expect to keep coming back year after year.
What's great about it: Predictable - same as every year
What's not so great: I sure wish I could just upgrade instead of re-purchasing!
Pros: I bought or sold investments

I have used turbo tax for years. I always have multiple employment/business expenses and have had educational expenses as well. I have never had difficulty completing returns. Prior information is readily available to compare. My daughter has started using turbo tax as well. Why pay someone else to do your taxes?
What's great about it: Extremely easy when information is ready to input
What's not so great: would be nice to be able to file state free
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

I've used TurboTax for the past five years. The software is easy to use and guides me through the process. Checking for mistakes is one of the best features. TurboTax cuts through the tax man's mumbo jumbo. It's like having an live-in accountant without having to support him.

Just short of perfect

This was my third year using the TurboTax software, so obviously I like it. It is easy to use, simple to navigate around. You can go straightthrough, or skip parts and come back later.
It is easy to get started, and easy to walk away from for a few days and return later to pick up right where you left off.
When you are ready to send your taxes in, you are confident that you got it all done properly, and with max refunds.
But let's take a moment to consider the only major drawback I found.
As I said, for 3 years now I have used TurboTax. I have always bought the CD, and that works great. This year, I was planning to buy the product online and download. However, for some reason, the downloaded version is not compatible with the saved data from the previous years taxes that were done from the CD version. This means that as I do not want to enter in all of last years data manually just to get started, that I am now stuck with buying the CD every year until this issue is corrected.
I can understand how the Cloud version store data differently, but I was not interested in the Cloud version. I wanted to download and do it all on my computer and save it on my own computer the same way I always have, just without the actual disk.
It should all be universally compatible. TurboTax should be TurboTax, regardless of purchase format.
I do hope this problem is addressed and labeled accordingly so that perhaps next year I can feel confident that I can download instead of going to the store to buy another disk.
Other than that, I am more than happy with everything TurboTax does for me. Far better than any other option out there.
What's great about it: Straightforward, easy to use
What's not so great: Disk version not compatible with online version
