Quality Tax Preperation

I am so glad I no longer have to spend hundreds on tax preperation services when I can now do it myself at a fraction of the cost. Thanks TurboTax
What's great about it: Step by step helps me do my taxes quick and easy every year.
What's not so great: Some sections that are to dificult for even TurboTax to explain

Need a little Turbo!

I moved. Misplaced records. Son said Get Turbo. I did. Easy, easy, easy! Had trouble getting the PIN #. Now Iknow where my tax returns are moving or not.Smart Son!!! Even a Grandma who had to have her 2 year old grand son show her how to pause a TV show, can figure Tubro out.
What's great about it: Easy easy,easy! Made for a slow computer Grandma

Mostly Straightforward, Community Help When Needed

I've used TurboTax for several years. This year I ran into a problem that I couldn't resolve, a value on the state form that I couldn't correct. By asking the question of the Turbo Tax community, I learned that I could choose "Forms" mode instead (I never saw it before). I then learned from another community member that the error originated in the Federal form, and they explained that I could find the way out by going to the Federal form, highlighting the value and right-clicking to "Override".
So, the program is powerful, but sometimes you need help to get through it - and the community is there to help!
What's great about it: Easy to follow steps
What's not so great: Confusing when "step-by-step" fails

My tax is simple, but I have to go through different GUI/questions every year due to turboTax change the GUI every year.
I hope you can keep it simple and same GUI for a while

What's great about it: cover the tax rules I need, import data easily
What's not so great: change usage/format every year
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

I have been using TurboTax for years and the price keeps climbing sky-ward - it's basically the same program each year update with the latest tax codes. I know there are cheaper models out there - I just wish your prices wouldn't go up so fast.
Tool is solid, well written program, "really-idiot proof" - you really have to try to screw up to mess this thing up.
Overall - solid, but value could be a little better.

What's great about it: Quck and easy, flexible (step by step or go direct to forms), intutive, well written code - runs fast and updates quick.
What's not so great: Sometimes too "simple" and pays down to lowest common demoninator
