Turbotax

saves me money, i can do it myself rather than paying someone else to do my taxes. Its simle enough to follow. However I do get nervous wondering if I make a mistake and don't catch it.
What's great about it: very helpful and easy to follow

Exemplary Tool

Directions are easy to follow, when needed clarification on process I used the online community with good success and when I needed expert tax advice I received it. The wait time for the tax expert was 1.5 hours, but I also waited until the week before taxes were due to ask my questions. Apparently, a common practice ;-)
What's great about it: Easy to follow directions, access to on-line community and expert chat as needed
What's not so great: None found

Went quite smoothly overall.
One step before e-filing I was confused because TurboTax asked me to enter the state and zip code of my employer on a blank W-2 form. I am retired and did not have any W-2's this year.
What's great about it: The experience was OK for the most part.
What's not so great: some slight confusion (see Review below)
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Excellent product; extremely user friendly.
Import of info from last year's forms. Understandable instructions and descriptions. More detail available it needed.
What's great about it: Transfer of data from last year's return. Instructions in plain English.

Lots of problems

I was very disappointed with Turbo Tax this year. Many of the "click buttons" did not work including getting an update so form 1040A could be filed. Took way to long to work through the issues to finally get it done.
Very disappointing.
What's great about it: Menu questions are good
What's not so great: Forms not ready and could not use automatic updates

Great software, releasing your burden on tax forms

I have been using TurboTax for consecutive 7 years. It's easy to use and get me the most refund -- I actually compared other tax softwares using the same profile and TurboTax gave me more than $200 refund! I don't know exactly how. as none of the softwares gave me detailed senario comparison. Well, I can find it out if I really wanted to, but, I just did not want to spend extra time to figure it out. That's why we use software like TurboTax to help filing each year, right?
What's great about it: Step by step, very easy to use
What's not so great: No detailed senario comparison.
