Qick and easy

I have been using turbotax for several years and it truly simplifies filing your taxes. It significantly shortens the time it takes to perform this task but still inspires a feeling of confidence that when you finish everything is correct.
What's great about it: Easy, Fast, Accurate
What's not so great: Extra topics which could be skipped

Retirement Problems

In general the program worked as well as ever except for one big problem. It treated my Federal Retirement as an IRA. This causes problems. I had to fill out the IRS form instead of your easy system.
Also you still don't understand DC taxes. If you file as married filling separately on a single return you can move the income and deductions around until you get the highest refund this is hard to do on TurboTax and always has been.
What's great about it: As good ever for most things
What's not so great: Messed up retirement Pensions, fair on DC

Turbo Tax for Domestic Partners

Turbo Tax is aware of Registered Domestic Partners and Two Women Marriages, but doesn't make it easy for you to complete the 3 returns required. You have to enter one partner's twice, while copying the more complicated partner from federal to the joint state.
Never mind that we have kids and have to split them, and figure out what is best.
What's great about it: Provides links to relevant info
What's not so great: Have to enter each partner separately, and then again for Joint

What's great about it: So Easy there is nothing to this
What's not so great: Nothing this was awesome

Best Electronic Tax Return

The turbo tax deluxe helps you get every dollar of itemized deduction that you deserve. It is very thorough and helpful.
What's great about it: I love the help when I need it.
What's not so great: I wish it was easier to come back to a subject you did not finish, but need to.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

I've been doing our own taxes using turbo tax for as long as I can remember. More than 10 years. The program has covered every new situation in my life-- new job, marriage, new house, old house, new child, big move, new business venture, big medical expenses, hubby on active duty, and everything else! I'm confident that whatever the situation is, Turbo Tax helps me get it covered. It's a comprehensive program, yet super user friendly. Tax program for us dummies, for sure!
What's great about it: So comprehensive yet so easy to use!
What's not so great: I owe this year, boo!
