Turbo Tax

Even when filing complicated returns, such as self-employed or Clergy Taxes, Turbo Tax makes it quick and easy.
What's great about it: Walks you through every step of the way
What's not so great: none
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Easy

I itemize medical due to expenses and Turbo Tax breaks everything down so easily. I just gather all potential tax forms, year end summarys from bank accounts and credit cards and can easily be walked through all the various deductions and sections to easily file taxes. Well worth the minimal expense every year.
What's not so great: State efile not included.

EASIEST RETURN EVER

This was one of the easiest returns I have done. No need to worry about entering incorrect info. was able to import most of the forms. And filing was a breeze!
What's great about it: very easy - only took a few hours to download and file

I have used Turbotax for years. It is so easy to use. I have moderately difficult taxes and it still only takes an hour, once I have the details.
What's great about it: Easy to use
What's not so great: Not enough detail when errors occur.

Fast and Easy to do

TurboTax was quick and easy. It calculated my return at each step. I didn't have to worry about missing something or entering wrong information. It's my choice every year!

While working on entering medical deductions, I entered data that I later had to amend. However, the new numbers would not save. I entered the number and manually saved before moving to the next category, but the number would not change. Eventually, I had to delete the entire file and start all over.
What's great about it: Easy transfer from last year
What's not so great: Total screwed up in the middle. Had to start over

Turbo Tax Goofed

I told you that I received an IRA RMD. You reported it on Line 15b but you did NOT fill in Line 15a. (Why not?)
You did not allow me an opportunity to attach a supplemental explanation for Lines 16a - 16b as I am required to do when I reduce my church pension by the Housing Exclusion Allowance permitted for ordained clergy under Section 107 of the IRS Code.
You did NOT fill in the name of the property for the gas royalty income I reported for Sch. E. I gave it to you. Why didn't you put it on the form?
Overall, I appreciated your calculations. I am not happy with your omissions and difficulty in printing. You kept looping me back.
What's great about it: Calculations for Capital Gains Tax, Social Security Tax, and State Sales Tax
What's not so great: Hard to manipulate when I wanted to print and your failure to include on tax forms some of the information I gave you.
