Makes It Workable

If you don't have an electronic copy of previous year but you have already paid for this year's Turbo Tax, getting your data online shouldn't cost you a second time.
What's great about it: Walks you through everything
What's not so great: I lost last year's fiels due to a computer crash, bought Turbo tax but to access the files there would have been a fee!

I've been using Turbo Tax since 2005. That should speak volumes about the program. It guides people smoothly through the trying task of filing both Federally and State returns. Thank you Turbo Tax.
What's great about it: Easy
What's not so great: personal support lacking (no one to call on phone)
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

You are doing the best anyone can with the insane US tax Code. For us amateurs, there are still quite a few terms that just can't be understood. Perhaps more concrete examples of what a term implies might be helpful. I'm sorry I can't think of any specific examples right now because I just finished and my brain hurts. I must apologize but I support a flat tax. This whole thing is just ridiculous. Oh, well, there goes my hundred bucks.
What's great about it: Easy to navigate
What's not so great: Still some government jargon that defies explanation

Turbo Tax makes filing taxes so much easier, plus they check for errors and the audit estimator are something you don't even get with a tax preparer unless you pay extra!
What's great about it: Guides you through each deduction. Plus able to file for each working child
What's not so great: None

Medical deduction percentages would be nice to know before entering all the figures and just getting told not enough. Same goes for moving expenses.

The process was very good and easy to follow

The process was easy to follow and filing my taxes was good experience and I would recommend the program to all--I even had a CPA check my figures and he found nothing wrong
What's great about it: The step by step process was great
What's not so great: I had little trouble initially with loading but got it fixed and all was ok
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)
