This is so easy, no need to take to a tax person. E-file and it is deposited to your specified account, and your done.
What's great about it: Quick and easy..walks you thru it all
What's not so great: Don't have any
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Glad It's Over

Did not like that I had to go back to UPDATE the program because the forms were not AVAILABLE. It should have prompted me to update before I actually began. And I still have a big question: Why is the standard deduction shown on my return different than what is shown on the margin for Married Filing Jointly? Hope this doesn't cause a problem. It does not inspire confidence.
What's great about it: nice, professional-looking final product
What's not so great: still a few questions - standard deduction I received differs from that shown in the margin.

How to be able to sleep

I have used Turbo Tax for a number of years and each year I appreciate what the folks at Intuit have put together for those who do not want to pay for an expensive tax accountant or a person who prepares taxes. I feel confident that the questions asked are such that I know what is needed and that the answers will satisfy what the tax entities are looking for.
Thanks Turbo Tax for an easy to use and high quality program.
What's great about it: The customer friendliness of not only the questions, but the explanations.
What's not so great: I would like a bit more detail at critical points during process.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

This year I got married and Turbo Tax was able to handle it. I also resold tickets and the program helped me claim them correctly on the schedule.
What's great about it: Answers the questions I needed
What's not so great: Changed to joint but couldn't pull in both 2011 returns
Pros: I bought or sold investments

Been using Turbo Tax online for several years and it makes tax time so much less of a burden. Even though I had to pay this year, I was confident the amount was calculated correctly and no worries about being audited.
What's great about it: Basically a fill in the blank
What's not so great: Can't think of what I don't like about Turbo Tax!

State needs more harmony w/ Federal look and feel
on April 8, 2013

The program is straightforward. However, the State portion appeared dis joint from the Federal in format and feel of wizard for required responses.
Was presented w/ two areas to input a zero or blank value amount. Areas that were not applicable to me. These should have been filtered or autopopulated via a no or not applicable wizard question prior..
Also miss the current tally of current refund amount as you progress through questions. I beelive this used to be always visible. Not it's a "suprise" after completion or key areas.
What's great about it: Federal wizard was straight forward
What's not so great: State wizard different from Federal. Should provide yes or no options to skip areas of questioning.
