2012 Taxes

Turbotax has done an exceptional job in making it easy to file taxes. I have been doing my own taxes for many years, have tried other tax programs, and always come back to Turbotax. The new format is great for inputing data, but finding which form it has been placed on took a little work. Its still the best program available
What's great about it: Covered everything in detail
What's not so great: Sometimes difficult to find which form items are on

I was introduced to TurboTax in 2004. I have used it every year since. It really makes doing taxes easier with the help of presenting the previous year amounts along side the present amounts. This allows me to determine if I have left any item out or immediately I can check to understand the difference.
What's great about it: TurboTax makes it fun to do my yearly taxes.

2012 Deluxe TurboTax

When I tried to e-file my state return I kept getting an error statement that was confusing and frustrating because the reason was not apparent to me and I could not figure out what I was doing wrong. After repeated attempts I gave up and filed my state return by mail. I have been very happy with TurboTax for years and will contiue to use it. I use the Deluxe program.
What's great about it: Thorough and easy to follow.
What's not so great: Difficulty e-filing my state tax

I've been using Turbo Tax for the past 4 years and filing my taxes has never been easier. Easy to understand directions and step-by-step precise walk through covers all the issues without missing important deductions. Very user friendly.
What's great about it: Easy, detailed, step-by-step walk through.

Very Easy and Sooth

I love being able to do my own return at the comfort of my home, at my own schedule. My situation is not complex, and this software is so easy to use.
What's great about it: Convenient at home, cheap, smooth process
What's not so great: have to do your own research if you have a complex return

TurboTax fees have gone up

I was disappointed that (1) TurboTax fees have increased significantly and (2) that, this year, I was charged twice for the state tax software (I file in two states). I was charged once to download the software and I was charged a second time to e-file.
What's not so great: You pay to download the state software... and then pay again to e-file
