Have used Turbotax for more years than I can remember. I wrote a book last year that I hope to publish. I would not have figured out how to get credit for my expenses if I did not have Turbotax. It also proved very useful in organizing my stock sales that happened to be extensive in 2012.
One thing I would like to see is in Turbotax would be a planning feature for the upcoming tax year. I realize that the tax code changes each year, but even a proforma tax return would be useful.
What's great about it: prefer to use forms

Stress Reducer

if you are like me and prepare your own taxes, then turbo tax is definitely the way to go. Cost is relatively inexpensive compared to going to an accountant. And since all returns must be filed electronically, there really aren't any other alternatives. Love it!
What's great about it: clear, step by step instructions; large font; fast and accurate calculations; explanations provided if you need them
What's not so great: state tax e-filing costs extra

Less User Friendly

I do not believe that this version handles the use of the 1098-T information as well as it could. It tries to force you to use it for the student dependent rather than allowing you to use it for the parents thereby getting a much larger refund.
What's great about it: Complete coverage of all subject areas
What's not so great: The changes made from 2010 to now make this version much much less user friendly.

I have been using TurboTax for years, I like the interactive nature of the forms and most importantly, I can depend on the outcome
What's great about it: Fast, foolproof
What's not so great: Don't have much to say here
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Printing returns

Since I cannot print my returns, I was forced to file e-file and cost me money I did not want to pay. I tried the different ways the help center suggested, but it did not work.
What's not so great: Couold not print returns. Said error opening file damaged could not be repaired.

2012 Turbo Tax

Overall Turbo tax was easy to use and I have been using it for over14yrs. But some areas the questions were not clear as to what is wanted for input and as to weather you could use same info in two places or only one.
What's great about it: Ease of use
