Social Security Benefits from earlier years

I received SS benefits in 2012 for years 2011 and 2010. On the screen that asked for AGI for 2011, it also asked for taxable SS benefits; however, I look for Turbotax to compute the taxable amount. How was I to know that it is 85% of the benefit received. AND a message kept saying that 2011 was an estimated number and should be corrected by going to "edit menu" , which I could not find.
What's great about it: Problem was resolved after two half-hour phone calls.
What's not so great: I looked for Turbotax to provide taxable SS benefits
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

This was the best experience I have ever had with a tax program, thanks to your agent at the customer service number.
What's great about it: The customer service agent at the 866 number was wonderfully helpful and polite.
What's not so great: No matter what I did, the state return would not commence after downloading and installing.

i have been using turbo tax for 10 years and it just gets easier every year. i wouldn't use any other software

Simple process, excellent explanations. After spending far too much money at a tax prep office last year, and seeing the person utilize what appeared to be similar software, decided to try preparing my own this year. It was a breeze, and the audit insurance is very reassuring.
